WHAT ARE YOU LONGING FOR IN YOUR LIFE?

I have been asking myself this question for the last few weeks of 2019. I loved to pick a word or phrase to direct my attention for the new year. 2020 is going to be a year that I will remember, because of all the significant events that will be taking place for me and my family.

· It will be the year my youngest son, Cameron will be graduating from high school and deciding where he will be focusing his attention in the future.

· It will be my 50th birthday, on Mother’s Day in May. It is always fun when my birthday falls on that special day, because I was also born on Mother’s Day. It is a day I get to share with my mom and my mother-in-law.

· My husband and I will be celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary in October, and I truly can’t believe that we have been together that long.

As I started to look over these amazing milestones, I was still feeling like I was missing something in my life on a deeper level. As I thought about becoming empty nesters, and with whom I will be spending time with- I realized that I was longing for deep connections with women.

You see we have moved 6 times over the years, to different parts of the country- New Jersey 3 homes, New York 1 home, Kansas 1 home and Pennsylvania now. In those different places, I have made some good friends, and some have kept in touch with me over the years, but I understand it is hard to continue a close relationship with someone who lives somewhere else. I will say that there are a few women who have always had a special place in my heart and longed to rekindle my connection with one in particular. Someone who was at the birth of my first son and was both my children’s god mother. To make a long story short, we were friends through some of the hardest and best times in our lives and then I moved away. We had an unfortunate break in our connection for years and lost touch. I never stopped thinking about how I missed her and her family. I recently opened some framed photographs and started to dream about her. I really wanted to reach out to make the connection but wasn’t sure she would be interested. I debated for about 2 weeks, and it was so heavy on my mind and heart that I took a chance and sent an invite through social media. To my surprise, she accepted my invitation and reached out. It literally was the best gift I have received this holiday season. Since then we have connected by phone for a long conversation and also sharing pictures over text.

The message of this post is: to offer to you the opportunity to take stock of where you are today, and decide what are you longing for?

For me, I am looking forward to connecting with my friend and hope to share some of these amazing milestones I have to look forward to this year!

On the flip side, you don’t have to figure this out by yourself. I have been working on this question for a few weeks- I have a therapist I see to talk about how my life is going, I have two very creative and powerful yoga teachers that I regularly attend their classes. They challenge me physically, emotionally and mentally. I worked with a business coach last year for 16 weeks. This was one of the best investments I have made for myself as I continue to grow my business, and walk into my knowledge. Last by not least, I have my meditation practice which is one of the most exciting areas of growth. The more time I dedicate to myself, the more I can see and find my higher purpose.

I am sharing all of this with you to let you know that we all need teachers, coaches, therapists, and healers in our lives. I am a better healer, accountability coach, yoga teacher, barre teacher, friend, parent and spouse because I work on me!!!

If you are in need of growth in your life, please reach out to me! I am the creator of Find and Feel Freedom in your Body and would love to share my knowledge. This program is for groups of any age girls through women.
