MY JOURNEY

As an Integrative Health Coach and Yoga Teacher, I am passionate about creating a holistic approach to life! It is part of my vision to enthusiastically help others cultivate more harmony in life through movement and knowledge. We all have the gift to give our body and mind what it needs to be healthy and succeed. It is a simple concept but today many people are walking around feeling exhausted mentally and physically, overweight, disconnected from themselves and others, and going through the motions of life.

I cultivate, guide and support others to find their inner voice, their truest self. Reconnecting to your passion for life, fueling the body with all that it needs, living life with an attitude of gratitude and authenticity regardless of the obstacles in your way.

Learning something new about yourself every day is motivating and inspiring!

My story…

Where did it start?

At the age of 15, a white spot appeared under my left armpit after I suffered a bad sunburn from a Summer lake vacation in Western New York. I was diagnosed with an autoimmune disorder, Vitiligo, and another one a couple of years later, Raynaud’s disease. I was told that that neither condition was fully understood and that there wasn’t anything I could do to reverse them. As I went through my 20’s, 30’s and my early 40's, I experienced other symptoms, however I was told they were not connected and physicians treated them individually. I continued to see many different doctors over the years and none of them suggested that these disorders were connected to each other or to my digestive system.

What were my symptoms?

Sensitivity to the sun, swelling of my hands and feet, mild depression which was on and off, post-partum depression, anxiety, weight gain, bloating, gas, hemorrhoids, ear, throat and sinus infections, upper respiratory infections, toe nails cracking, nails peeling, ingrown hairs, skin breakouts, hair that would break, chronic yeast and bacterial infections, mood swings, food binging, food addictions, dehydration, and low energy.

As you can see, the list is long and some of the symptoms started as a teenager and continued for many years. I was an overweight, depressed, sad, hopeless 42 year old. Things got so bad that I would take an exercise class and need to rest because of how taxing it was on my body.

Where am I now?

Five years ago, I jumped off the Western Medical Paradigm and found a Chiropractor that specialized in Wellness Coaching. I was diagnosed with Systemic Candida, Epstein Bar Virus, Leaky Gut, food sensitivities, malabsorption issues and dehydration. I have worked very hard over the last five years, with many different practitioners, using different tools to overcome both the physical and emotional toll my health has taken on my mind, body and spirit. It has given me perspective on what is important in life - my health, family, friends and my life's work to inspire and to help others.

I studied at the Institute of Integrative Nutrition, where I learned innovative coaching methods, practical lifestyle management techniques, and over 100 dietary theories; everything from Ayurveda, gluten-free, Paleo, to raw, vegan, macrobiotics, and everything in between.

Today, I see a Functional Doctor that is helping rebuild my digestive and immune systems. I eat a mostly grain-free, dairy free, no refined sugar, legume free, limited soy, low glycemic diet.

My mission is to share my knowledge to help you live a healthy and more mindful life. I want you to take back control of your health and live life to the fullest!
