How Will You Be Outside and Playing This Summer?

Whole Body Wellness and Yoga with Melinda Janofsky

Paddle Board Yoga at the Himalayan Institute in Honesdale, PA

You may have heard on social media and in the news that being in nature is beneficial to us in many ways. Being outside in the sun, rain, grass, and water can be a healing experience for our physical and mental well-being. Being in nature reduces anger, fear, and stress and contributes to lowering blood pressure, heart rate, muscle tension, and the production of stress hormones.

Now that we are aware of this: What Do We Do in Nature?

Hopefully, play came to your awareness. We feel young and energetic when we play because it relieves stress, improves brain function, stimulates the mind, boosts creativity, and keeps us connected. So back to my original question how are you going to play this summer?

If you are at a loss for ideas, I have a suggestion already planned out for you. This summer at the Himalayan Institute in Honesdale, Pa (just 3 hours away) you can be in another world where the intention is to restore inner balance and deepen the connection with the natural world around you. Check out this link https://himalayaninstitute.org/retreat-center/ to see the amenities, the grounds, and see the beauty.

I am so excited to partner with the Institute to offer my first retreat on the water. If you have the interest to come and play on the water and land, this is the place to do it! You don't have to have experience on the board, and there will be opportunities to hike, take yoga classes on land, sit by an outdoor fire, eat healthy meals, meet new people, and if you choose to book a treatment at the beautiful spa, experience bliss.

How do I sign up for the retreat?

There is a two-step process for signing up for the retreat. You can go here to my website and see how to reserve your spot. There is a link in the details on the website that tells you how to reserve your spot for the retreat with me and how to contact the Himalayan Institute to reserve your room.

What if I am brand new to the Paddle Board or to Yoga?

I have to say that this is not an obstacle that should prevent you from coming. If you are interested in scheduling a private session with me in my pool or attending one of my paddle board yoga classes this summer, just reach out. I have all that you will need to get on the board and be safe. My only requirement is that you know how to swim.

How many can attend the retreat?

I have 15 boards reserved for students to come and experience nature and the Institute. If you have your own board, please bring it with you and reach out with any questions.

If you are feeling burnt out from the busyness of life and need a break with light, love, and laughter then this retreat is for you. We will be exploring the grounds, the body of water on the property, and a lake at a local state park. It will be a great way to get away and reconnect with yourself and other like-minded participants.
